My name is Arslan Rafiq, and I am thrilled to share my incredible experiences of hiking Mukeshpuri Peak, a stunning 2,800-meter-high (9,200 ft) mountain nestled in the Nathia Gali Hills of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. This peak, which is the second highest in the Galyat Region, has been the backdrop for some of the most memorable moments of my life. I've had the pleasure of visiting Mukeshpuri Peak three times: twice during the summer and once in the winter snow, each visit providing its unique charm and challenges.
First Summer Hike: The Beginning of a Love Affair
My first adventure to Mukeshpuri Peak was during my university days, accompanied by a group of close friends. We started our journey from Nathia Gali, opting for the 4-kilometer-long (2.5 mi) steady climb on the western side of the mountain. The trail, surrounded by the Western Himalayan subalpine conifer forests, was a visual treat.
